Our Story

How Selesa Came to Be

Selesa began in Kuala Lumpur in 2019, when our founders recognised a gap that many Malaysian families quietly navigate — the challenge of ensuring an older relative's home life runs smoothly when adult children are at work, living abroad, or simply stretched across multiple responsibilities at once.

The word selesa means comfort in Malay — and that is precisely what we set out to provide. Not a rigid care service, but a thoughtful coordination layer that sits alongside what a family already does. We arrange, we organise, we communicate — and we keep things calm.

Over the years we have worked with households across Kuala Lumpur's city centre and surrounding areas, building a small but well-regarded practice based on consistent communication and a steady, unhurried way of working.

Written Scope Agreements

Before any arrangement begins, we document the scope clearly — what is included, how often, and how updates will be shared with the family.

Privacy by Default

Household information and family details are kept strictly within Selesa's team. We do not share client information with third parties outside the agreed coordination scope.

Regular Review Cycles

We schedule regular check-ins with the family to review how the arrangement is working and to adjust anything that no longer fits the household's routine.

Companion Vetting

All companions introduced through Selesa are interviewed in person and matched to the older adult's language, interests and personality as closely as possible.

Family Update Reports

Brief, plain-language updates are sent to the family after each visit or at agreed intervals — so nothing needs to be chased and everyone stays informed.

Respectful Communication

We work with families at their pace. No pressure, no urgency. Questions are answered fully and decisions are always left with the family.

Selesa has been working with families across Kuala Lumpur since 2019, offering a measured and attentive approach to home support coordination for older adults. Our work covers three core areas — home comfort and accessibility planning, weekly meal and grocery coordination, and companionship visit arrangements — each shaped to the individual household rather than drawn from a standard template.

Families who come to us are often managing a great deal already. An adult child working long hours, a sibling living overseas, a spouse managing other household responsibilities. What they want is not more complexity — they want to know that someone dependable is keeping an eye on the practical details, communicating clearly, and doing so with genuine respect for the older adult at the centre of it all.

We are a small Kuala Lumpur-based operation and we intend to stay that way. Our size allows us to be consistent, responsive and genuinely attentive to each household we work with.
